    ive never had "real" eggnog, the kind you make at home, but ive had the 'nog that comes in the carton from the store and i love it. my son and i had some to kick off the beginning of season. some good.

    It's amazing! So thick and creamy. A very interesting taste but it's sweet and feels very festive. :slight_smile:

    But when I turned 21 I found that people add alcohol to it. That ruins it. It becomes disgusting. DRINK EGG NOG STRAIGHT! NO BOOZE!

    I used to not care for it, but now I love it. I work at Starbucks, so I recommend our eggnog latté because it's only around til January. Also, chai eggnog lattés are out-of-this-world good. For Christmas parties or family holiday gatherings, mix two parts eggnog with one part rum in a punch bowl and enjoy!!

    LOVE IT!! It's necessary like coffee. Though a friend of mine found out how much I love eggnog and poured a ton of rum into it....I drank the entire carton one day...worst...day...ever! My poor head >_> at least the rum was a good flavor lol xD.

    Eggnog is heaven, especially homemade. Unfortunately, it means a punch bowl and guests to consume it all. We're lucky. We have Pittsford Farms Dairy, which tastes as close to homemade as you can get. It's beyond fattening, but as a once a year indulgence well work it. I spike mine with Meyer's dark rum, but I've heard that bourbon or brandy does well too. Dust it with nutmeg, turn on a favorite Christmas album, light a fire, read a "Christmas Carol", gaze at the tree, and you have a happy Christmas.
