What Emojis do you consider overused and in some cases really annoying?
Mine include the 'OK hand sign', 'Heart eyes smiley face', and worst of all... 'The smirk'.

Wherein I actually answer the question:
This one :3. Too try-hard. I can just imagine the sender thinking "I'm so kawaii!"

Wherein I ramble like a madman about stuff no one should give that much thought:
    All of 'em.

I only ever use them with the explicit purpose of annoying others (mostly my friends), irony, and when I'm texting someone I barely know because I've been told that I come across as a sociopath on texts for being so "dry." I'm not dry, I just never subscribed to the notion that punctuation signs arranged in weird ways could ever convey honest emotions (cynicism: on). They just make it too easy to mask your apathy with a couple of taps and I can't ignore that. This isn't to say that I think everyone is a two-faced master manipulator no; emoticons are wonderful as a conversational device to move conversations along without the use of words which is something I find fascinating, however let's not pretend that they would ever serve as an accurate substitute for real emotions (which is the misconception I feel a lot of people have, whether they are aware of it or not). I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't like how seriously people take them (way too much! The self-deception the mind will go through to feel a connection will never cease to amaze me). Also they make me feel like a try-hard.

Aaaand I did it again. I went full rant lol.

I agree with the heart eyes emoji and the smirk, I tend to use those quite a bit as well. I also think the tongue sticking out one and kissy face is used quite a lot. I never really get annoyed of them though..

When did they start being called emojis instead of emoticons?

    All of them... \(〇_o)/

It's like, it's hard enough to judge, if a person is being serious, truthful and actually "connecting" to you, in a hypothetical "rant" thread. It makes it ever worse, when they decide to use emoticons...

Okay, i'm going to say it, someone has to.

So, let's say that "someone" made a thread about suicide and they got a "oh it gets better" response bundled with an emoji. The comment alone is pretty damn stupid, but adding an emoji, alleviates the seriousness of the situation, making the whole statement practically worthless...
    ლ(ಠ益ಠლ

Oh, you're feeling bad, since... reasons, here's an emoji, now you MUST feel better...
Give me a break... Emojis do not = being supportive. Stop doing it!!!
