I was wondering if anyone else finds it funny or amusing when Santa is portrayed as evil in a comedic way. Kind of like Futurama's depiction of Santa.
It can be. I was going to mention Futurama's Robot Santa, but you beat me to it. I find anyone, be they a holiday mascot or not, as amusing, if done in a conflict-to-how-they-are-typically-perceived manner. This is why I find South Park's portrayal of Jesus as amusing, sometimes.
Mildly amusing... In the way that it's less boring than if he wasn't portrayed as being evil. In shows such as South Park, Futurama, Family Guy, etc... Twisting popular "ideas" for the sake of humor, and slight ridicule, is something that i find quite funny. I mean, that escapade Stan Smith (American Dad) had with Santa and his army (oh yeah, spoiler?!), was quite funny. All the Christmas slasher movies aside, there was this one movie, i think Sint *quickly googles it*, yeah Sint... That is something worth watching. Obviously not a serious movie, but it's fun. Too bad it's in German...
Futurama's evil Santa was hilarious! Have you seen Rare Exports? It is a rather excellent movie about evil Santas. It was done by the same people who did Troll Hunter.
Wait, I thought Santa was naturally evil! Those poor elves, making all those toys, just like child labor in the age of Dickens. I'm a Grinch supporter, here.
