I have been reading facts of the day and have decided to post them and see if you get as much out of it as I have. Enjoy! "Alexander the Great (356-323 BC) had conquered most of the known world by 323 BC. His empire reached from Asia Minor (Turkey) to India. A military commander at the age of 18, he was king of Greece at 20, ruler of Greece, western Asia, and Egypt by 24, and conqueror of the Persian Empire when he was 28. Alexander, son of Philip of Macedon, was taught by Aristotle. Shortly before he got to India, Alexander's best friend died and he was broken-hearted. He returned to Babylon where he was to prepare for the conquest of Arabia. He contracted a fever and died at 33. Alexander led his armies more than 12,000 miles (19,312 km). He was considered one of the greatest generals of all time and paved the way for the Roman Empire. He spread Greek culture throughout the known world and founded the great city of Alexandria in Egypt." ... I didn't know that and I'm a History major!
Alexander the Great...seems like he was hot haha. The fact that he was taught by Aristotle as a young boy gave him a better edge than those of the people of his time.
Gah! This reminds me of the movie! I know the movie tweaks things but no matter what the best friend dying is depressing.
I haven't seen the movie. I've been wanting to for the longest time but haven't got a chance. Maybe this will push me to see it. Lol.
Just be prepared... it is effen LONG! Also, it jumps on what time it is. It gives little notes on the bottom like such and such AD/BC (whatever I can't remember.) I haven't seen it all in one sitting but I really need to. I loves me some Angelina Jolie.
