Fact of the Day - Oct 15 In 1938, the Graf Zeppelin was launched. It was a predecessor of the infamous Hindenburg and made the first commercial transatlantic air flight. For passenger travel, the airships were a luxury. But for transoceanic communications, it meant that documents could cross the ocean in three days instead of 7-8 by ship. The Graf Zeppelin set a record in its day.
