If You Could Have a Superpower...

    What would it be, and why?

    You can include multiple ones, to keep it interesting, but there's more said about a person, when they include just one. It tells you a bit about them.

    For me, if I have to pick only one:

    Super Speed.

    Why?

    There is a lot that can be done with super speed, that isn't just related to rapid or quick movement. You can vibrate at such a frequency, you become very difficult to detect by telepaths, and you can move through solid objects, for two examples.

    I'd be fairly rich if I had super speed. I'd offer my services to postal services, maybe drug cartels (hey, I'm just being honest), with the promise of putting them over the top of the competition. I mean, if I'm moving at speeds that surpass sound or light, what vehicle is going to outrun me? What coast guard is going to see, let alone stop me?

    Also, it'd be useful for traveling purposes. I could go to places I'd like to see, or meet people that I'd like to meet. It's a pretty practical but useful ability, which is, really, only limited to, and by, it's user.

    Theoretically, at least according to the DC comics Universe, if you run fast enough, like The Flash, you can travel through time. And, honestly, that would be pretty bad ass.

    Now, what other superpowers would I like? I'll have to address those, later on, when I have a little more time.

    I would like, shape shifting powers, like Mystique from X-Men.

    Because, first of all I'd be able to have a male body.

    Second of all, I can transform into Japanese rockstars and make myself personal solo porn videos.

    Invisibility. I could spy on men in changing rooms, steal things from stores, pretend to be a ghost.. the possibilities are endless.

    I am going to go with...

    Telekinesis. Of the extremely powerful and precise kind.

    Because, thinking about it, that would allow me to do all the speed related things you mentioned in the OP, Kaiser, and also a bunch of other things, like flying. I suppose, if I could also manipulate photons, I could become invisible. And hey, just general telekinesis as well.

    Not a superpower, more like vampirism. Simple immortality would work, but I feel it won't be fair without the downside of actually being a vampire. I want to observe the world, to live long enough that I could experience all that there is to experience. Mortality tends to make life a tad meaningless, when you think about it.

    Not necessarily. The invisibility field could extend to nearby objects, or those which are held. If it doesn't, then it would still have its benefits. Ordinary thieves often manage without invisibility, and it would help with escape if someone did see the object. I think the bigger problem with invisibility is that it would make a person blind.

    I used to have a list of superpowers I wanted as a kid. Like 30 but, now I guess I would want shape shifting powers, that might change though. So i might post on this board after I think about it some more throughout the day!

    Hm... It's hard to decide. Super speed may be useful, because I'm a very slow person and have trouble keeping up with my life. Or, with invisibility, I could sneak up on people and scare them... Also, I once had a dream I had x-ray vision, and I was using it to look through girls' clothing. Now that seemed like a pretty good idea. XD

    Can I choose them all? Lol.

    Shapeshifting like mystique and Telekiesis like Jean Grey.

    Thos would be really great to have because I would love to just be a girl some days and then a boy other days. Plus, Telekinesis looks awesome to have.

    Driving in a car, while invisible, could produce some hilarious results. Of course, it might also cause somebody, in a panic, to get into an accident...

    All right, smart ass, LOL.

    You should have gone with encyclopedic knowledge, or something. Like the ability to be infinitely intelligent.

    Good point on the field. I assumed it was only for the individual, not an ability to extend into a radius.

    Most mediums that deal with invisibility, tend to allow the user to see. Yeah, it may not make sense, but that's how it goes. Then again, if you put too much science behind superpowers, you take the fun out of them.

    It depends on from which realm you're talking about.

    For example, if it's the Percy Jackson realm, I'd want to have Annabeth's super brains or Frank's shape-shifting.

    Avengers? Hawkeye's shooting abilities...

    Avatar? Air-bender...

    The list of realms goes on.

    But if I could only pick one, from one realm... Shape-shifting.

    I know, I know. Bad habit :slight_smile:.

    As for the extent of the invisibility field, it typically covers clothes, doesn't it? So at the very least, the stolen object could be put in a pocket. That might not work for a TV, though.

    I would choose either flying or mind control..

    Flying just because it would be fun and I could go anywhere I want in the world, plus I could take someone with me assuming I'm like superman and lets be real that'd be like the best date ever.. I'd be like Aladdin except I don't need no flying carpet. I could take someone on a date anywhere in the world.

    Mind control because I could make anyone do whatever I want.. I could make the bad guys stop being bad. It would be interesting to control a number of people with my mind. I could be rich, fly anywhere I desire to go, I could basically do whatever I wanted truthfully.
