This may seem like a stupid post, but it really is bothering me. I don't have any gay or lesbian friends and I live in a part of the country where making such connections is near impossible. I'm not talking about physical hook-ups, just a real friend that I can talk openly with about my same sex thoughts. For example, my wife and I watched a movie last night that had the stereotypical gay character in it. I wanted to go off on a fun rant about the clothing and over the top persona they gave him, but I knew my wife wouldn't get it, so I just kept it to myself. It's little things like that that make me feel very alone with my sexuality.
Even if it is not exactly the same, I suppose you could at least look for someone to stay in touch with online(maybe messenger or text buddy). It's obviously not the same as having someone physically present, but it can at least knock off some of that loneliness to have somebody to communicate with about it all. Otherwise, I feel your pain. Any and every time I'm offline, I'm pretty much slapped back to the reality that I have nobody I can share my thoughts, etc. with in regards to this. It's an awkward feeling; being around others enough but feeling (sometimes incredibly) lonely. Hope at least some of that loneliness can be lifted by staying/hanging around here a bit, and the best of luck.
I would love to be your friend! I myself need some gay friends. As a closeted male, I find myself trying to hide my true self from everybody and it gets very lonely!
You are just in the place. We can laugh, cry and vent/rant together. Welcome to the EC. Hope you can enjoy your stay and we can keep you company.

Dear trailblazer; OMG!!!! Yes!!!!! I would love to be friends with you, and here's the best part of it, I'm GAY too. I don't want a love relationship as much as I just want a friendship, someone just to talk to. A real buddy, it took a lot of courage on my part, I did a lot of soul-searching, and I finally just came to the realization that I'm not the " Man " that everybody thinks that I am. I like to talk to girls, I'm transgendered, so I even like to dress like them, I just do not want to be in a relationship with them anymore. I was hurt to much, emotionally by my old girlfriends. I'm so much happier being gay, and transgendered, and now I may have found a friend to chat with. Jaymegurl
I'm kinda in the same boat. I only have 2 gay friends and they both live in different states than I and I wouldn't consider them close friends...
Postrider.... I'd love to be your friend! I hope this post gets to you...since we're both regular members it just has to go up on the general wall. Anyway, we seem somewhat alike...middle aged (ok, I'm on the far edge of middle age, but I'm hanging on!), married, Christian (and wow does that cause some conflicts in my mind) and needing to talk to someone. I'll keep my eyes open on this forum and if interested, let me know!
Wow, do I feel the same way, Only I'm not a teenager......I'm 64....yeah 64 freakin' years old. I been fighting with this problem for a very long time. I'm not a pedo....I'm not into doing anything with kids, I'd just like to sit down and talk out some of the issues that face us today,. but not but anybody around here, at least not not. Maybe we could talk more in the future!
I can relate to your concerns about lacking someone to talk to about such things. Finding friends online alleviates the problem to some extent but it is far better to have someone in person, who you can talk to. 愛
Welcome to EC! I agree with some of the other posters here; having someone you can talk to irl would be ideal but in the absence of such a person you can always come on EC to rant/vent/seek support. I'd be more than happy to listen
