Other. Probably Memorial Day and Labor Day, in that order. And it lacks the annoying noise and such of the 4th of July. Memorial Day is the first 3 day weekend of summer and Labor Day is the last. Time to go somewhere, even if not too far away! It's certainly not St. Patrick's Day. It's certainly not Valentine's Day. Via wishful thinking, another one could have been Columbus Day ... a 3-day weekend during the crisp weather of the second week in October and which MOST people don't have off. Columbus was sort of a bad guy, though, if you really, really dig into his antics and those of his crews.
At this point in my life, I hate them all equally. I am very socially isolated, with less ability to make friends than the monster in a horror movie, and I'm frankly past depressed with going through :***: holiday after holiday totally alone.
Try whatever you can to take a positive spin on these difficult times - holidays. I have spent many of them on my own. I just earmark in advance what I'm going to do and allow it to distract me so I don't focus on the negative aspects but, yes, that being alone on a holiday is stressful and depressing is totally understandable.
Halloween! I just love everything about it. Not to mention it being one of the only holidays that doesn't involve visiting extended family.
Halloween is by far my favorite! I am not usually very... feminine, but Halloween is the one day I get to wear costumes and make-up and feel awesome doing it. My mother is great at make-up. I remember one year I was this zombie doctor... She make it look like my face really was made of rotting flesh! Or I remember I was Medusa one year... I looked very, um, seductive... Not really my style but I like Greek mythology so I couldn't resist trying it out!
My favourite one would be the New Year. Though I respect the Human Rights Day and International Women's Day.
New Year's. Granted this one will be spent alone as all my friends are busy doing their own thing, but the next one might be the best yet
