Two people, here, know my birth first name. A third knows the first letter of that name.

Knowing my name, online, is a sign that I trust you on a deep level, far beyond a casual level, because it makes things a little more personal. This is why I tend to avoid referring to folks, online, by names. I'll make an exception, if somebody really insists upon being called something else, but in general, I stick to usernames.

Here's a hint about my first name, then. It has an odd number of letters (1, 9, 37, 43, etc) in it.

Dull name. I ran my name and birth year through some web site that grades your parents' originality. My parents got an F. Although there were family reasons for choosing John.

I really hated it, too, when a teacher made some crack when I was in high school. A student, he said, asked him the hour before where the john was. And the teacher said, "He won't be here until next period!"
