So I'm pretty short 5'6", I find myself comparing my height to others all the time. Sometimes it makes me feel "less than" someone who is tall. Issue with you? How do you manage?

Me! I am only 5' 8'' I sometimes get like that too. Most all my friends are over 6ft. It used to bother me a lot but not so much lately. Now in a way I kind of like it. I tend to find average height to shorter guys cuter and more attractive than tall ones. And I read an article a while ago that shorter people live longer on average.

Yeah, everyone has their own idea of short, but I'm 5'7" and I'm the shortest of all my good friends (two are above 6'), including being shorter than one of their girlfriends and the same height as another. So I definitely do feel short. To be honest, I kind of like it--I feel like being shorter and smaller (and gay, I suppose) has made them more protective of me. But I know that's not how other short guys would see it.

I would agree, I've seen plenty of shorter guys that are really attractive. That should be enough for me to get over my hang up.

I would consider short my height 5'6" and below, so I'm the biggest of the small guys ha

I am about the same height as you. I agree, being tall gives people natural confidence. I don't like being short; i get to be at armpit level on a packed tube and clothes rarely fit well. How do i manage? Meh, I just live with it. There isn't anything that can be done about it...

I'm 5'8" so definitely not tall but it doesn't bother me. I never really feel out of place due to my height.

I also agree with this. There's certainly tons of exceptions, but on average I think I'm more likely to be attracted to shorter guys.

My height is only 5'5". I've basically mourned for the height I'll never have. I think the only way forward is to accept it and not worry so much. My first thought about this subject, is the quote "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." - Mark Twain. It could be interpreted to be about enjoying life, not just about fighting!

I'm 1.72 ( not sure what that equates to in US measurements), I don't really mind it....the only problem is that I generally prefer guys who are even shorter ( although for the last 18 months I've been suffering a really bad crush on my best friend who is about 1.80 ....sigh) which cuts down the already limited pool of guys. However, the biggest problem I have found is that for some reason people always seem to assume that I prefer to bottom just because I'm short. Wrong!

Edited to add....I just googled and apparently in US measures that is a little over 5 feet 7 inches.

Same. People often assume I'm a bottom because I'm short, especially because I'm shorter than my boyfriend. But that is not the case :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I guess I'd be tall by the standards of this thread although I don't feel it so I'd reckon this "less than" feeling with height it common to most men (bar super tall 6.5'+ people).

What I will say though is being shorter gives you some real benefits so try to think of the positives. You will look a lot more in proportion bodyshape wise (I won't be explicit but I will add that most male pornstars are short for that reason, go figure!), plus even with a small amount of muscle you will look well built and stocky (in contrast someone who is 6 and a half foot will likely still look "lanky" even if they put on a lot of muscle). Its all optical illusions.

I'm 5.6 and it doesn't really bother me. It actually makes it quite easy to buy clothes that actually fit me well. Like, I got this leather jacket that sits perfectly on me (lenght), imagine if it was on someone that was 6+. It would look ridiculous. There are a lot of benefits to having a smaller frame, that I won't go into because they were mentioned already.

Anyway, there are some "tricks" that can be used, to make you appear taller, if it bothers you.

Personally, I never wanted to grow taller after reaching this height. I am very content with my appearance and proportions. Although the society praises height, especially in males, there is no question that in terms of cuteness those giants can't compete with us.
