Ok, this is going to make me sound like a stupid American but I'm going to ask anyway. So many things we in the Northern Hemisphere associate with Christmas have to do with winter...Santa's warm red suit and sleigh, Frosty the Snowman, dreaming of a white Christmas, gingerbread houses, etc. But it's summer south of the equator. Wouldn't Santa die of heatstroke wearing that suit in the summer? And poor Frosty...he wouldn't last more than a few minutes! What do people in the Southern Hemisphere think of all this?
Here in Brazil we have the winter decoration included in the christmas decoration spirit, which makes no sense at all. Actually most parts of the decoration don't make sense here, including fake snow, reindeers, pine trees, and Santa wearing those warm red pajamas. Yeah, the poor guys who dress like Santa are not very happy about the costume I've spent Christmas in the Northern Hemisphere once and all the tradition makes a lot more sense!
Australia is awesome for Christmas! We normally have it outside in the sun. Heaps of families go to the beach. We still have the traditional hot food.
My friend from Australia told me about Christmas on Sydney's Bondi Beach with Santa, that's all I really know about that lol
