Pretty good, really. Had a lot of friends, and some great close ones. I enjoyed my classes for the most part, and had fun going to clubs and sporting events. So yeah, it was good.

I joined nearly every sports team in order to stay out of school as much as possible and then left after 10th grade. The sports made it worth while.

It was alright, when I made the effort to go. My attendance was really bad. I was kind of a shit in my first year as well (this is where most of my detentions came from), but got over myself in the second year.

I had a good circle of friends - they were mostly my motivation for even going at all.

Awful. I wasn't out in high school but everyone called me gay anyways. I was socially awkward and only had a few friends but felt like they weren't even really friends. My home life wasn't that great and school life wasn't that great I always felt like I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Wish I could say I was homeschooled. Would've been much less traumatic.

The environment of the high school I went to school at I would describe as one of the most evil places to exist in the United States. Short of the South I think it'd be hard to get much worse (in the US).

The popular opinion on queer people there was that they should be rounded up and executed. Needless to say I was as quiet as possible.

My school wasn't too bad. But I still kinda hated it.

I didn't like many of the people. And I was too socially awkward to speak to the ones I did like. The first 2 years I had a group of friends though. But I still didn't speak much. I never really got comfortable with them. And the third year I just spent my time alone.

One of the things that bothered me most is all the illogical rules. I just really hate being restricted for no apparent reason.

Well im still in High School in the Netherlands, i'd say it's average. I've got lots of friends but none of them are in my classes and i kinda dislike most of the people in my classes so yeah.. I also tend to be called gay alot, which sometimes can be annoying cause im still not out and i'll have to protect myself. Still got 1.5 year to go till university :icon_sad::icon_sad:

Freshman year was the worst. I was bullied a lot due to my race.

After moving from NY to NJ, I transferred to a different high school. It was better because there was more diversity in terms of race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. I rarely got bullied. But I still didn't have too many friends. They were mostly acquaintances. So yeah, high school overall wasn't great.

College is the best. Most of the students here are more mature. I have stronger friendships than I ever had in the past.

Worst years of my life. I hated middle school and high school. I had come out of the closet, unaware of the hate LGBTQ+ members got, was pulled out of school, placed in another where the bullies from my previous school where, got expelled, was put into a program, passed, put into another program, was pulled out and placed in another. Through out the years, I was bullied pretty bad and there was no one around to help me with my depression. I had therapists that passed me off from one to another. I felt like no one wanted to deal with me or my thoughts. I went in and out of psychiatric wards and they treated me like I was a dirty criminal. I had many friends leave because they where either afraid of my situation or didn't like me for being bisexual. Definitely a part of my life that I don't want to remember.

Freshman year was kind of fast paced and confusing but as a sophomore I like it. I'm either friends with or aquatinted with everyone. I haven't really been bullied other than jokingly because I'm blonde, even after coming out as bisexual. I like most of my classes and the people in them so overall, it's pretty good.

It' going ok, I guess. I'm a junior...
I mean, socially, I never had that big of a problem but my grades are awful, so yeah... Gotta work on that.

I feel sorry for those who didn't have such a decent/good experience like I'm having. Luckily for me, most people are very accepting of everybody, no matter the race, religion, sexual orientation or gender. I'd say you'd only get in trouble if you worked towards that, if not, you'd be just fine.

    Hang in there (*hug*)

Highschool fucking sucked! It could of been a lot worse, but I don't think I hung out with a single person outside of school all fours years. College/University has been a lot better for me

I was home-schooled by my conservative, Catholic parents, which wasn't great.

I was able to play football for a local Christian high school, which I mostly liked. There was a bit of homophobia on the football team, but none of it was channeled directly at me since no one knew I was gay (as far as I know).

Pretty terrible due to having not found any friends I connect with on a more than superficial basis.

Hated it, worst time of my life. Looking back it was a really good opportunity to learn as I like learning but I was bullied a bit so I couldn't wait for it to end. I didn't try as I only thought about getting home. When I hear people say that they enjoyed it I get jealous because school can set you up for life.

Not too bad. It was about the time I started to mellow out, and began transitioning into a better, more considerate, more productive member of society.

Elementary school was, in my opinion, harder and more cruel than middle or high school.

In the first two years, I was very much a bully. School was entertaining to me, because I'd just pick on people, hurt them physically or emotionally, and set people up to get in trouble, be it with staff or other students. I was rarely bored; and I enjoyed staying ahead of the administration, so that I could continue doing these types of things.

The last two years, I started to make some changes. Minor, but they set in motion the journey I currently walk now. While I wasn't handing out cookies, I wasn't inflicting misery on others, and I was actually standing up for folks here and there. While things started to get a little more dull during these years, they weren't bad by any means. I just had a different experience, really.

Basically, high school wasn't bad for me. However, I did make it bad for others, in the first two years of four. That's something I reflect on, along with several other things, and they remind me of the progress I've made.

I graduated in 2005. So, come the end of Spring, it will have been 10 years.

    Jesus... time flies...

Mine was fine, nothing too memorable.

It's called 'upper secondary school' or 'college' here and it's not like your neighborhood school, you can choose which one you go to. So my old school is known as the very liberal socialist everyone smokes weed and is gay school. I had a mohawk and made out with my girlfriend in the halls and nobody cared, very lucky.

But they certainly weren't the best years of my life, far from it.
