So some kids (I say kids, but we're all 18-24) at my university are getting together to start an LGBT group. It's going to be freaking awesome! We are trying to get it "under the table" sanctioned by Baylor. Basically...we're trying to get them to sign a piece of paper saying that as long as we don't meet on campus and don't present ourselves as Baylor students that they can't punish us for our lifestyles. (Background: Currently the rules are that if you are cought in any sort of homosexual act, be it even holding hands, you can be brought to the student court and reprimanded and possibly expelled...) But yeah, I'm really excited...I'm so tired of feeling like I'm the only one except for the random people you get that look from walking between classes. :eusa_danc Just wanted to mention this...because well...I have nothing better to say.
Wow. Not something I would expect from Baylor. That's awesome though, I wish you all luck. Be involved!
Nice one, everyone in my school is homophobic and makes jokes every minute cant even walk to class without getting called a fag
Congratulations and good luck with Baylor. I've heard they are one of the worst homophobic universities in the nation.
Thats really cool that you are forming a group, maybe in the future things can change...there's always hope : ) Good luck and congratulations on the work with the group
That sounds cool. Can the university really enforce that kind of rule though? What if students perform homosexual acts off-campus?
It's ridiculous that you'd even go there. If someone doesn't accept me, and every aspect of my personality, why in GOD's name would I want to pay to keep that establishment running. Shoot. *Snaps.* Lucas.
But good job on the group. Sorry I didn't mean to crap all over you. What you're doing is brave. Lucas.
Haha, ok. Look up "Waco, Texas" and "Police". You will find that the only police in Waco ARE Baylor police. So basically, they can enforce whatever the heck they want. I've gotten a ticket before for parking for an "extended period of time" infront of the one and only local gay bar. Lets just say, now I take the bus. So yes, they can enforce it, and if I argue I can be kicked out of the University. So do I want to pay a stupid $25 ticket or do I want to get kicked out? I think you can answer that question for me. As to the rest of ya'lls comments... Yes the rules suck, but it's better than nothing, which is what we had before.
Eeekk...I knew Baylor was really conservative, but wow... Congrats on getting the getting the group going, and good luck getting Baylor to sanction it.
