Hey guys, I don't post often, but my homework was to find two definitions of queer that aren't from the dictionary. I just wanted to ask everyone, what is your non-dictionary definition of queer? What's everyone's personal meaning for queer?:eusa_danc P.S. I put this in chit chat and not support because I want this to be a lighter and funnier discussion.
Queer's quite broad. It can mean the general non-heterosexual community. It can mean having a sexuality that can't or would preferably not be described using terms such as gay or bi. It can mean being of a gender neither entirely masculine nor feminine. It can be a nasty slur against men who have sex with men or a woman who gets her hair cut in what's deemed a masculine fashion. To me, the use of the word as we do now relies on its loose definitions.
Anything that is not both heterosexual and cisgender, or gender normative Some cishetero men can also be called 'queer' if they're into things like crossdressing, pegging, being the more submissive one, since they break heterosexist standards.
Any person who does not idenrify as hererosexual, or any person that does not identify as cis-gendered. At least that's how I view it
Queer is a term that is being reclaimed by the LGBT+ community. So any of those 10 million letters that make up the full LGBT acronym and everything under all those umbrellas, can be referred to as "queer".
I don't think there is one concrete definition for it... a lot of people say it's just an umbrella term for anyone who is not straight and cis but I don't like to be labelled as "queer" at all (for many reasons).
A person, who sees and feels everything through rainbow-glasses and has an identity of an anti-heterosexual. It means positive attitude towards individual sexuality. It´s like me.
Queer translation to Arabic is "shaz" and from the meanings of it is Exceptional and I like to be exceptional
