So.... What's Your Definition of Virginity?

And here we have the results of the previous poll... How old were you when you lost your virginity? It looks like the majority of people here on this site are virgins. And whether that's a good or bad thing (or even a "thing") is all up to you.



However, during the voting process, there seemed to be a small argument as to the definition of 'virginity'. And here in this poll I'm gonna try to see what your take on the whole thing.

If we have any people who aren't satisfied with the choices in the poll, just feel free to comment below. Of course, if you have any other comments, just comment anyway, nobody's stopping you. =D

I think 'Any sexual experience with another person' is a bit vague, a sexual experience could last 5 seconds!

I don't know if people are really familiar with the "bases" sexually.. but, I believe that a "home run" is the only place where you can lose your true virginity. With that said, I'm still a true virgin.. but not a virgin virgin, if you get what I mean. Yea.. frustrating? :S

I was always kind of vague on what the bases are, but I know what you mean about being a virgin in one definition is different than being a virging in a different definition.

And this all makes me wonder.. Why are there so many different definitions in the first place?

I checked Never had any sexual experiences with someone before, but I think that anything involving the breasts can be considered a sexual experience, but definitely if that's all you've done, in my opinion, you're still a virgin. I think that if you've ever had oral/anal/vaginal sex you're not a virgin. We also need a definition of sexual experience.


So this took me forever to phrase, and hopefully this makes sense and I got my point across.

Well, I have 2 takes on the matter. First, oral sex is sex, but I don't see see that as a major accomplishment, so I would have to say penetration, but virginity is the state of never having sex, be it oral, vaginal, anal, what have you. I'm a little torn on the matter, so I'm not voting, but here is what I think about it.

I chose the first one. But, for me, the idea of being a virgin or not is not really a big thing. I think we're all on a kind of continuum from total innocence to total lack of innocence. I don't think it's very meaningful to say someone is or isn't "a virgin" because that can mean so many different things.

I would say... when you do something to the point where an STD is absolutely possible. Virginity is purity, and I associate that with being pure of STD's

Assuming birth doesn't play into you having it passed down.

I'm at loss of heart though. Are molestation victims virgins then? Does it depend on how far that assault went? Rape is really sad for virgins though... idk what to say

Virginity for me is the absence of any sexual experience with another person. No penetration, no drunken handjobs in the alley behind the theater, no kissing sessions gone a little too far, none of it. Yes, I consider being a rape victim as having lost your virginity - willingly or not, it still happened. Sad as it may be, it happens.
