Sometimes i wonder, what if we LGBTs just leave the planet behind and go to a new one. A place where the law doesn't discriminate anybody for their sexual orientation. A place where no one will be bullied/tortured/tormented/hated etc. just because they're not straight. A place where religion accepts everyone without the fear of being hated. If reproduction is a problem, we could always use modern science to procreate. Life would have been better.
Even then I don't think it would be perfect. As a lesbian, I've dealt with plenty of hate from gay men, bisexuals, and trans people, and I'm sure other groups have faced hate from the other three letters as well. It would be nice if we all accepted each other, but we need to work on that in our community as well.
Fallingdown is right, not to mention the fact that there would still be racism and sexism, so it wouldn't be perfect. There is a lot of discrimination within our community, which is silly, given we are discriminated against ourselves.
I think we would get bored of it and lazy... Lets face it the world isn't meant to be peaceful. Its meant to face challenges and overcome them till the next one comes up. I think living in a world with nothing to fight for would make us weak and lazy
From. Girl trapped in a male body it seems like no one likes you anyway! Lol..gay men are repulsed for the most part and lesbians think there is something wrong too. Lol..I mean generally not all so no one please be offended! But I do think we can all do fine if we apply the golden rule and learn to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
I think that the ones who point out the problems in our community have the right idea. There would still be differences and we would still discriminate/be discriminated for something. Plus, it's not very healthy to get stuck in the "what ifs". Be happy you have food and shelter and acceptance from most members of our community and fight against the bastards that say you're wrong! That's all you can really do whenever you're in a minority group. But that was an interesting idea. I'd love to see a book like that.
I do agree. And homo/bi/transphobia isn't the only issue that causes discrimination and fighting anyway
It goes both ways I've heard gay guys say they hate lesbians and lesbians say they hate gay guys.. I don't get it. We have to deal with enough hate as it is
I wondered something similar, but not to seperate us from others, on con'tre : What will happen in a world where EVERYONE are nice to each other and not judging ? Need a ride somewhere ? just hop into someones car. Minimal traffic hurray! Police ? whats 'police' ? no crimes, no police. Hunger ? Doesn't exists ! Need food u just ask. Cancer ? cured. all resources were put to find a cure and we did. Poverty ? no where to be found. Rich people donate 95% of their money!
