I absolutely do think visibility is important, and precisely for the main reason outlined: me, taking responsibility for being myself and openly gay (as much as possible).

I feel more accepting now. Not that I wasn't before, but yeah. Better.

I really like that comic! Thanks for sharing Perseus  That's why I am trying to gain the courage to be more open with those around me about my sexuality. My mom accepts me, but she does not understand that mentality. She says that I shouldn't "make a big deal out of it" by announcing it to everybody because that makes it seem like a whole huge thing. But what she doesn't understand is that IT IS A BIG THING. Because I'm proud of who I am, and people all over the world are being misunderstood and hated because of who they are. And if I am not afraid to be myself, maybe it will help some of the stereotypes and misconceptions go away.

I get where this guy is coming from, at first I kinda wanted to bash the comic because of it's title, I thought it was just another one of those 'Hey, I'm gay, respect me'

But he makes some really good points. I respect him for what he does.

    That's pretty awesome.
I usually keep my orientation very private because I want to be known as me and my orientation is not the whole picture of who I am. But that gave me some things to think about.
