How long have you been in denial about your sexual desires?

10+ years, just now finally accepting them

 

I was in denial for 5.5 years when I came out as bi almost a year ago, now I am questioning again.

 

Not long at all.

 

For a fair amount of time...I think I only realized a couple years ago, because I never had a crush on anyone, or had a word for who i was attracted to.

 

Ever since i was attacked.

 

Not really in denial....just buried in secrecy...sucks! Lol

 

Well I only realized when this year but I should have figured it out 5 years ago.

 

Never...When I started to realize that I liked guys, I didn't push the thoughts away...On the contrary, I embraced them...

 

A very long time. There were moments early as high school that I had inklings of it, they were quickly pushed away. College, they resurfaced stronger, and deeper and deeper away did they go.

 

I think 6-8 years is long enough

I've been out for about a year. I was in a 25 year marriage. So I'd most of my life I'd say. Better late than never.

 

I always knew I was attracted to girls, I think I was in denial about my lack of attraction to guys.

 

I put in a 'very long time'.

However, the answers in the poll are all subjective, and the older I get, the smaller the amount of time that will seem. However, I'm there now, which I guess is what counts?

 

'Sexual' desires? What are those?

Otherwise? Probably not too long because it added up really, to myself at least. To others, it is current and continuous.

My obliviousness to this? Too frickin' long...

 

I didn't vote because, honestly, I probably still am.

I've found them confusing at times yes, but never denied them.

 

I answered never.

I may not have been, and currently am not, an open book on them because I worry about being too graphic and I think the vast majority of people would not appreciate that.

However, as for me acknowledging my sexual desires to myself, I have downright owned them. Seriously, if you get walked in on as a teen and there were no repercussions, why would a person not be in touch with their desires and fantasies?
