So I volunteer at a hospital with a couple of awesome friends, and just recently we had a girl come on to our shift. At some point, the fact that I had a girlfriend a few years ago came up, and she seemed very put-off by me being gay/bi or whatever, and a similar incident of OH NO THE GAY happened this week :rolle:

So anyway, my two wonderful friends are going through the trouble of making an appointment with our boss to try to get her off our shift, since they both are very angry that I should have to deal with someone who's clearly not comfortable with gayness. Any ideas how I can thank them for being so awesome and supportive?

Maybe tell them how much you appreciate the support(if you haven't) and treat them to a little something if you want, saying you wanted to do so for that?

Thanks for the idea! I'm still in high school though, and don't have a driver's license or a job for the money :frowning2:

I know it seems cheesey, but a heartfelt note or card with thought-provoking, thankful words can stay with somebody for their whole lives. I'd like to think we would all do the right thing, but it's especially nice to know if your empathy truly made a positive difference on how somebody views the world.

Does either of them drive? And it could be something like ice cream if you wanted(you could just say you wanted to treat them to a little something).

It's just a suggestion though, so don't fret, ha. A surprise card can make someone feel good, too, like howsit said.

Another idea might be some self made pizza...
or a pre made pizza margherita, spiced up with some good cheese and pepperoni...
or a self baked pie (use baking soda, no aftertaste..)...

and some words how much you appreciate their help.

    (*hug*)

^ That homemade pizza(or pie; w/e) idea is actually a good one. It would also likely mean more to make something yourself(especially if you have the stuff to do so lying around) if it was what you felt like doing.
