    Hey,
We've all heard about Halloween in America, but over here (in Australia) we don't celebrate it. Do other countries do it or is it just the US?

In Uruguay some people do, some don't.

There's a lot of resistance from the older generations which see it as yet another manifestation of American imperialism.

    Personally I love it.

In Puerto Rico it is celebrated almost by everyone (amazingly even by extremely religious people)... but hey, every American holiday that has to do with buying stuff and spending money is widely celebrated here.

Well, it's speted to be celebrated here, we're next to the USA.

Some ppl celebrates it, and MOST ppl celebrates the traditional (prehispanic origin) holiday; wich is to honor the dead ppl, they put up "Ofrendas" (Tables and/or altar where ppl put Food, water, candles, color papers and items the dead person (or persons) to be honor liked), say prayings and is some places hit the streets to make a march in honor of dead ppl.

The kids also go out for candies, but on November 1st (when dead childrens are honored, adult ppl is honored on November 2nd)
