androgynous name?

    The name I go by is Tab. My mom gave me the nickname when I was still a baby. In my mind its a pretty gender neutral name, sometimes people assume I'm a guy when they only see my name. I never thought it was a masculine name but what do you think? I'm curious

    I think I would have guessed male as well, by only seeing the name. But I think it works great either way. Cool name! :slight_smile:

    I would guess it was a nickname for tabitha or s/t, so I wouldn't think you were a boy.

    Well it could be both male and female...

    Some websites list it as boy name but it could be a girls name as well, being a short form...

    I'd say its gender neutral, not distinctively male or female...
    not with a specific ending like -ea...
