Some studies have put LGBT unemployment rates as 4-5% higher than the national average. Are you employed? Please mark unemployed only if you are actively looking for work and old enough to work in your country.

I'm not employed and currently not looking for work. I'm still working on getting over my social anxiety.

I am. I do artsy things, painting, drawing, crafts and clay work. I sell them.. I'll be getting more into wood and rock carving this summer. May not sell stuff until I'm good at it.

    I voted "other."

I do work with my dad at his office, but I wouldn't consider it a real job. At the very least, I am underemployed. Because of family issues, I didn't actually start looking for a "real" job until after the holidays, so I am now sending resumes and applications. But, I'm also being selective going after companies/gov't agencies that are at least LGBT-tolerant. Plus, I feel having a "real" job will help me in the sense that I can maybe come out more and maybe date. It's super awkward to not really talk about your personal life at work because it will all go back to your dad .

Yep, I'm working at the moment as a pharm tech. I like the job because it gives me practice before I graduate in a few years and practice in a community setting.

Sometimes it gets in the way of my time to study for classes, but there are ways to deal with it. I always upload my notes on Google Docs and make study tools on Quizlet. I have Internet access on a PC as part of the job, so I study those things during downtime.

Yes... I love my job in health care. It's a lot of fun. I'm learning a lot about dementia.

Yes, I'm employed I work at a chicken processing plant. They work us like slaves with constant overtime and they constantly cancel our days off. Matter of fact they cancelled my day off today and I'm supposed to be there right now....Oops

Been working since I was about 8 years old when I got a paper route in Chicago. I cut grass, shoveled snow, cleaned garages and basements, delivered groceries and prescriptions. Can you imagine young kids delivering prescription drugs to people's houses on their bicycles today? When I was in high school I worked in a gas station doing everything from cleaning washrooms to pumping gas. All gas stations were full service back then. I learned to work on cars, plowed snow and went on service calls doing things like changing tires and jump starts. Service calls were big business in cold weather. I briefly worked for a couple house painters, then in an automotive body shop and drove a tow truck before starting an apprenticeship in the metal trades that became my career. I started my own machine shop in 1983. It's provided a very good income, the work is gratifying and I'm proud of my skills. Still doing it at age 70. Don't work as hard as I used to but I just can't seem to turn away business when customers need something. I've had my best customer since 1996. They're great to work with and pay their bills on time. In my opinion, learning a skilled trade can be just as good as a college degree for some people.

Currently unemployed and not looking for work, but I will be looking for jobs/internships within the next few months. I'm hoping I'll be able to find a job/internship at a game studio, but really anything that'll allow me to practice coding or designing games (or hell, designing anything) is good enough for me.

    I work at Sainsbury's.

I could probably ditch my university course and go into full-time work, since my GCSEs and A-Levels were good enough on their own.
