To mimic the official election being held today in the United States, I'm creating the official EC Election thread. This will include all candidates running for President, including independent parties. You are not required to reveal who you voted for, whether or not you voted in real life, or who you voted for in the real election. If you do choose to post your vote, keep it at short as possible - the name of the candidate and a short comment will suffice. Do everything you can to keep it from escalating into an argument.

What's with people mentioning names that the majority of Americans haven't heard of? Come on guys -- I know third party options are a good choice sometimes and stand for great things. But realistictly they're not going to be elected. And everyone has the right to vote for whomever they so choose to but I think it's just strange when people mention names that aren't even on the ballot in most states. The names listed above were all the names listed on the ballot in the state of Nevada. Are there other names in different states?

Many LGBT people don't like the Republican Party and what it stands for. And by all the predictions, it looks like Obama will be our next president. We'll see. Anything can happen.

I would be very mad/sad if McCain won.

  12. I said McCain. Not because I'm very drunk at the moment but because I actually did vote for him

Generally, in Europe, Obama seems to be favoured. Interestingly, the French really support him but have no legislator from the very numerous citizens of Moroccan or Algerian descent; the same is true for the Germans and the very large Turkish community. Strange that they back Obama in the US yet refuse to vote for anyone who is not pure white at home. Similar support is found in Austria, where they are still mourning the passing of their favourite racist politician.
