Get a jpeg image of the giant chord chart with like 60 chords. I'd recommend starting with all of the major & minor chords. As for YouTube, check out Kim Mitchell's guitar lessons and practice along
I think the site was called justinguitar.com just google "Justin Guitar" and you will find it. It is totally free and he is amazing. Most people showing guitar chords just go "put your fingers here and strum" and let you try to figure it out. Justin shows you where to put your fingers then he shows you the common mistakes like "put your fingers here and strum. If it sounds bad like this (gives example) then this is what you are doing wrong." Oh and it doesn't hurt that he's cute and has a sexy accent ---------- Post added 16th Feb 2015 at 11:11 AM ---------- Here is an example of one of his lessons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkkOFLouQDs
Even with a chord chart, I still have no idea what I am looking at. I stick with tabs. But I would like to sit down and just watch somebody play some chords... that way I can understand. Still learning scales as well.
