How many of you would be straight if you had the option? How many of you would be happy with your biological gender if you could? I know I would stay how I am now because I like how it makes me unique! :icon_wink

If you asked me that question five to ten years ago I'd have said yes. At the time I was having a lot of difficulty with my sexuality, what with growing up in the Bible Belt of the Pacific Northwest (eastern Washington and Oregon), and living with a very homophobic father.

Now, my answer would be a definite no. I'm a lot more comfortable with who I am now than I was back then and I wouldn't change a thing.

    This type of thread again...

    I'll keep it short:

Sexuality, no. I like being capable of attraction to anybody, regardless of gender or identity. It has made me better able to appreciate things, and all the components that make an individual, or life in general, appealing.

Being transgender, I'm on the fence. It'd be nice to align with my sex, because I feel it's one of the greatest repressions to my potential. I'd be able to live, not endure, and that would allow me to be much further along, than I am currently. But at the same time no, it has given me insight and knowledge, not just about myself, but the whole concept of gender, the sexes, and identity. I'm actually more understanding than I ever was, and I like that.

On the fence is a good way to put it. I don't know at the moment. My thoughts keep changing

No, not anymore. It's made me a lot better of a person all around. Even though I'm not better to myself. I'm better to others.

Also.....boys are too damn sexy to be straight.

Nope. I feel like I got lucky with bisexuality. Right now it would feel like a loss to just be straight or gay. But it's difficult to imagine because obviously my perspective would change! Anyway, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I knock my head and somehow turn out straight or gay. I'd deal with it then.

Although I'm not comfortable with my biological gender. I hate being a trans guy. I'm not strong enough to cope with it. It doesn't help that my logical side ignores my feelings and sometimes I doubt myself because (or at least I feel) there's never enough research on transsexualism. Those brain scans don't convince me. It's funny that I don't question bisexuality to that degree. I've theorised that I'd still have a rather androgynous personality if I were born a cis guy. Therefore I think the real problem is insecurity.

Nonetheless, I'm happy for you and wonder how you managed to embrace it.

Nope, I've always been comfortable with my body, gender, and sexual orientation, and I always will be.

Would I change my sexuality, definitely not. I like gender not being a deciding factor in who I can love and I'm free to be attracted to and fall in love with the "person" I connect with.

As for Gender, I'm perfectly Happy as a man. However, it would be an interesting experience to live live as a women also.

    Happy days.

For the straight part? That really depends on the day/moment you ask me; it varies from indifference to depression somewhat. Maybe would want to be bi/pan instead.

What's more at the forefront of my thoughts atm is that I would probably jump at the opportunity to not be on the asexual spectrum. It's caused me nothing but the feeling that I'm unrelatable to anybody and makes me feel really...defective. :l

The only thing I don't particularly care for, as far as gender goes, is being confined to a binary body. If I could float out of mine and be truly without gender, I likely would.

If this was like another life or something...As long as I can be in a loving relationship, I don't give a damn. But cute guys are just hard to let go of.

Once upon a time, maybe, but not anymore. I'm very happy to be gay now.

Not only will I choose "straight", I would give anything to be one, so I'd stop being so sad and miserable.

If I could try it, go for a one-night thing and then go back to being gay, then yes.

Hah this was what I've came up everything I asked this question to myself. Thinking my old flames and knowing I wouldn't be with them if I was straight... That "No" gets bigger and bigger.

This question now feels like if you want to be someone else instead of yourself. I am who I am. Take it or leave it.
