Well, I honestly am not surprised that it's Wesleyan, or any other bastion of liberalism. It is, after all, a liberal liberal arts college :lol:.

Honestly, the only thing that should be grouped together is sexual orientation and gender identity. Though the two are, in some ways, strange bedfellows, they do represent people who possess rather immutable characteristics. I doubt children grow up knowing they are into BDSM.

What you do in the privacy of your bedroom (e.g BDSM) is your prerogative. That said, it's also my prerogative that that stays in your bedroom. I don't understand why you need "safe spaces" for things that shouldn't be public.

 

They should just use LGBTQ+ community or maybe there should be a new name in place for everyone.

 

I would like to think that this initialism is making fun of LGBT itself, which is catastrophically stupid and needs to die in a fire.

We only use LGBT because the people who really like that initalism hate the word queer and refuse to use regular English words to be inclusive about the community.

 

Oh Lord.

First, it's bad enough in general when the acronyms are so long people think you're having mouth diarrhea. So.. just no.

Second, idk why BDSM is included. It is a fetish and not a sexual orientation or gender. People from every orientation and gender can enjoy BDSM.

 

I voted for 'Superfriends', but apparently there's already a group of people with that name.

Where do I begin?

You might as well call us "The Alphabet" (or "Da Al'fo'bet" for the hipz kidz), instead of that confusingly long acronym. In fact, how does one even pronounce that?

Better yet, how does one even remember that? And even if you do remember it, how is anybody going to take you seriously? It sounds like somebody is stuttering or something, and...

The two Q's back to back, look like crying eyes. But that is very fitting, because I'm not sure whether to laugh or sob when I cry; which I feel like doing seeing this.

Also, 'Genderfuck', that might be the most bad ass part of this. Maybe the only, because I'm always fond of curse words in anything. I'd love to be at some formal dinner and somebody ask me what the other 'G' stands for:

"But I thought the G was for Gay!"
"Naw, dude! Totally Genderfuck, man! Ain't you know?"

BDSM... okay, I can roll with this, but what about the Zoophiles? May as well bring everybody into this -- I mean, whats one more letter? Besides, a 'Z' is hip and edgy, it makez your zentencez zuper zexy and koolz.

It almost seems like it's trying to be funny and if that's true, then I guess I can't really hate it, but grouping BDSM with LGBT? That doesn't makes sense. That really makes it seem like being LGBT is some lifestyle choice or fetish, which BDSM is. The two are really different.

I know some people who are at Wesleyan, I'll have to ask them if they know about this

I heard of a new acronym that I like called SAGA which stands for Sexuality And Gender Aacceptance. Its a lot easier to say and includes everyone :icon_bigg

 

Any safe space with BDSM doesn't sound like a safe space.

That acronym just makes it sound like a community of fags who are into BDSM. Lol. I didn't know anyone identified as "genderfuck".

 

Genderfuck actually isn't a gender identity but a way to express it through mixing clothes etc associated withthe two binary genders (for example a beard and a dress)

 

I occasionally use outrageously long acronymns simmilar to that...
