I lift very little weight because I don't want my hands too look manly (they are already big, so I work really really hard to keep them SOFT)

I usually wear athletic gloves INSIDE another pair of gloves... is it enough or there is really no way to lift weights without ruining your hands?

    Do you moisturize at all?
I don't wear gloves so my hands get pretty rough, but if I use a salve or something like Neutrogena Hand Cream it makes a difference.

You can also use a pumice stone to grind down any calluses forming.
Chalk is another thing I see people use at the gym.
Be sure to pay attention to how you're holding the bar. Don't hold it down in the palm of your hand; keep it up near your metacarpals.

Good luck. Soft hands are amazing (I'm very thankful my boyfriend has soft hands).

Get some Weightlifting gloves. I used them when I was in Powerlifting and they work wonders.

  5. Uh to be honest, I think they're inevitable. Calluses appear when you constantly apply and reapply pressure to a small area of your skin for a long time.

I used gloves for a while since I didn't want to get calluses, but they still happened.

    ^ that exchange was hilarious.

    _______

    Answering the question.

I've been working out for 2 years 4-6 days a week. And there is no stopping it. The callouses are going to come. I have them. And they make my hands rough.

I'm sure you could moisturize and try to prevent them are much as you can though.
