Granted, I'm a lesbian, but still, I find the word extremely awkward. I know some people get turned on by it, but every time I hear it I think of my own dad so I feel quite uncomfortable whenever it's used as a sexual term...

What do you guys think? Do you find it sexy or awkward (or something else)?

To be honest, I've never heard of it used in any other way apart from a "sugar daddy".

As for a father, my own dad buggered off before I was three years old so that terminology means nothing to me either.

Gosh no. Don't call me that, it's an instant turn off.

Even with its original meaning, me and my mother prefer terms like 'the sperm' or 'that arsehole' in my house.

That's one of the quickest ways to kill my mood.

Okay. I'll get out one of my field guides to kinky people.

So it can be an ageplay thing. It says some people find it healing because they didn't have much of a relationship with their real father.

I can't really judge them because some insults make my face go red. But I don't put up with that nonsense anywhere else.

I completely agree with the general consensus up until this point.

However, on the discomfort level, I will take your "Daddy" and raise you a "Baby Girl". I've been hearing this more and more often between heterosexual men and women and nothing turns my stomach more. The concept of referring to a woman that you find attractive or are romantically involved with that term when you are both completely adults is so creepy. It is the only one of these types of terms that makes me physically cringe.

Not sexy at all! Even for women! I can't bring myself to call a girl ''mommy'' in bed or in general.. it's such a turn off!

I do however like to call my girlfriend ''precious'' and ''gorgeous'' but they're more common terms I guess! Plus i'm not sure if they fit in the same category as calling your significant other mommy or daddy. It's honestly just flat out weird. x

I've thought the same. I mean "Baby" or "Girl" on their own, fine. But put them together and it becomes weird. I don't see many heterosexual women referring to their boyfriends as "Baby Boy", and if they did they'd probably get some funny looks.

I've heard "Baby Boy" used, and it doesn't sound much better.

In a joking manner, maybe, it'd be okay. In any kind of serious, with the intent of arousing another, not so much.

Now "Empress", we're on to something here! LOL.

It's something I was required to call my father until I was about 7 or 8 years old.

If my partner ever called me daddy. Or if he wanted me to call him daddy.

I once knew a guy who liked being called daddy. I liked calling him that. Somehow it just happened spontaneously. Don't ask me how. I still don't understand. lol

Disturbing. I don't call anyone that, and I sure as hell don't want anyone to call me that.

If my partner is older than me (say, 10-15 years older) and doesn't mind calling him this, why not call him daddy every now and then? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: It does have kind of a "porn" sounding, but I think it's cute. :icon_redf
