Sometimes I go out at night And the wind welcomes me The cold grass is my carpet The rough tree craddles me softly in its branches The cresent moon smiles at me The stars in the sky make me feel less alone I remember that they are my friends They don't talk to me but at least they listen I whisper secrets into the darkness I breathe out and the leaves start to dance So I start to sing with the wind Then the tree lets me down And my feet connect with the grass again I look at the stars and tell them 'One day I'll be up in the sky with you One day I'll be a friend to a lonely child' I give the sky one last smile and say 'But tonight I'll stay on the ground Tonight youll be a friend to me Today I'll make it.'
