I signed up today. After delaying it for a year because I had a few doubts, but they were very silly doubts  Nobody is going to give up on me if I go into intensive surgery just to harvest my organs.

Are you an organ donor or are you interested in signing up to be one? And if not, why?

I donate my organs regularly. I'm only a few more kidneys shy of getting the coffee mug

Yep, I'm signed up to be an organ and tissue donor. I don't plan on "donating" for a long time, though.

Yes. They can take all they want once I'm dead if it's still of any use.

I think it's a beautiful thing to be able to give someone (a longer) life, even after you yourself have died, and it's not like I need my organs anymore when I'm gone. But like Bryan, I don't plan on donating any time soon

Agreed. We have no use for our organs after death, leaving them to rot in the ground would be a waste if someone else's life was dependent on them.

    Any reason why?

No. I don't want people poking around inside my body. Especially because when I die, the only female thing left will be the inside (bone structure and such)

    Just burn it.

I'm not sure. I just don't like the idea of my body being incomplete when I get buried. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. In any case, I don't want my family to be the ones that have to make such a difficult decision, so as long as I'm not sure, at least I signed as a no so they don't have to. I might still change it, but until I do a no is better than a nothing.

Absolutely. Saving lives outweigh feeding worms any day.

Since I can't donate blood, I decided to be an organ donor.

I say let them take whatever they can use. If I'm dead, I'm certainly not using it.

This, but more of a gracious tone. I figure if I would like to receive organs if I need them, I can donate them when they are not needed. The idea that doctors would sooner say "screw it, he's an organ donor" is absurd. They work just as hard to save everyone and however I can help in life, I might still be able to help someone in death.

Yes I am. My mother tried to talk me out of it by saying that they are more likely to let you die at the ER if your a donor. Even if that were true I could accept the fact I'd die to save many others. I don't believe that they really do that though.

Not yet, hold it, Freddie... I'm interested on becoming one soon, but I won't tell you when... Just in case

And... I'd like to donate my brain to any scientist interested on connectomics. That would get me closer to inmortality than anything else.

I guess I decide that when I get a driver's license? For some reason, the whole idea seems kind of off-putting but I understand that it could really help someone.
