I wish one day Empty Closets would be more than just a site You know LGBT centers arent as good as this place 90% of people here are willing to accept new ideas and be friends with people they might disagree with in real life i myself have changed my thoughts on many people i used to judge i got educted about trans people i never knew anything about their life until i got here But many people cant reach this wep site say because their english is very weak or maybe their parents watch their browsers and wouldnt let them enter any LGBT sites So maybe a secret place called Empty Closets is th:eusa_clape magical place for unique people :icon_wink What do you think ^_^
This has been brought up before. Of course, the thing is, people on here come from all over the world....
Teach us how, Dumbledore. jk Like annual EC party. That would be fun! But NingyoBroken is right. Some are from the other side of the planet. But imagine hanging out with all of the EC members, PARADISE!
A lovely idea, but when you think about: EmptyClosets reaches so many more people than it ever could as a physical location. Also, that Saruman dog is awesome.
(Marked your words) That's INCREDIBLY amazing!! :icon_bigg Buying islands is possible, by the way, so... How knows.. Why not both? :icon_bigg
I would say it would be great but the way to start would be to expand. Firstly expand a physical location in the UK, then move into mainland Europe, then go into Asia, just so people could meet other members of empty closets from their country. So say me and a couple of Aussie LGBT people meet up at a meeting in Sydney or Melbourne, and say once a year could be a real big party bash where two locales meet up and have a big ass party.
I think it could be nice if Empty Closet becomes an organization hosting LGBT safe space all over the world.
I'm a little prejudiced because I quite literally found the love of my life here, so I know first-hand how valuable it is to be able to get together with people in person. That being said, though, knowing how much work it must be for the moderators to keep this a safe online-only place, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to maintain anonymity and personal safety in a real-life setting. I'd love to see it, but it would be a real challenge to keep it from being a magnet for abuse.
I've been a proponent of this for awhile. But the time, resources, and precautions it would take is simply not feasible at this time. Nonetheless, if there were a meetup of some sort, I would most definitely attend.
