I know this is an open-ended question, but it is something that has crossed my mind, several times, today and the past few. It's been a focus with meditation, and each time I discover or reaffirm something.

I thought it'd be a good question to share, and to ask.

Knowing we're all Human and we make mistakes and that it would be more productive to learn from your mistakes and apply your knowledge then to just be hard on yourself or wallow in self pity.

Being alone, silence with only a nice tune playing on background, cat's purring, my mother's snoring/loud breathing while sleeping... yeah that one is strange but since my dad passed away when I was 10 I had that unsettling feeling I would loose my mother just like him... when you wake up morning find her gone.

Hmm good question, I don't know if I've ever thought about this!

Thinking about 'unnecessary' things (like this), walking, snow/rain, clear nights, campfires, making art (playing music, drawing, writing), being/talking with family (sometimes), reflecting on my journey, tall trees, the beach...

    Yeah I could go on.

For me, it is similar to this...working on something in such a way that there is no "me" and no "it", that state some have called "flow", where subject and object are one and the same.

Talking to Leah gives me peace. She is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time! And I am so proud to call her mine ♥ x

Music is definitely something that helps me, depending on my exact mood. The stars are calming in a weird way, by reminding me how insignificant I am, especially under properly dark skies with binoculars. Being intimate with someone helps a lot too, but talking isn't something that brings me peace. Just being there is kinda the key.

The one I still don't fully understand is soft things. The right blanket, or fuzzy huggable plush thing can wash away a lot of things and let my brain just shut off.

I just take a walk. Just don't talk at all, walk around and observe, preferably somewhere quieter than my normal environment (especially since I live in the city). When I go and observe in places that's not my usual scene, I kind of reaffirm myself that there's more to life than the way i'm living now whenever I'm upset or just feeling out of place.
