For me based on how I dress I'm always assumed straight , and if people find out I'm attracted to women I'm always assumed bisexual. One time I had to explain over and over that I was not bisexual .

only lgbt spaces I can say I'm lesbian and people will believe it and not ask if I'm actually bi.

What about you guys what sexually are you assumed as ?

People always assume I'm straight. Eventhough I don't tend to express much desire for either sex/gender.

I have the exact opposite sometimes, when I tell people I'm bi, they'll ask me if I'm sure I'm not actually gay.
Eventhough until that point they'd assumed I'm straight.
Think it's probably due to bi-ignorance in general and male bisexual erasure specifically.

People assume I'm straight like they assume most people are straight. Yay heteronormativity  No one's ever not believed me when I tell them my actual orientation though.

Most Americans would look at me and scream "GAAAAYYYYY" off the top of their lungs.

I think I've been mistaken for every sexual label under the rainbow. It made questioning a lot more difficult, I'll tell you that!

People assume I'm straight too except for a friend of mine I've known for a long time. She's asked me if I'm a lesbian but I denied it..

Similar to Nekoko but opposite, people think I'm a lesbian but I'm actually a gay male... People I know, anyways. I don't know what the public eye thinks.

I've been mistaken for a cis straight guy, cis gay guy, cis straight girl, cis gay girl and trans girl.

No one ever thinks I'm a trans boy, for some reason.
Though people seem to assume I'm a straight boy right now.

A few times I've been mistaken for straight. I get more straight/bi girls pressuring me to be straight/bi than anyone making mistakes though.

I've heard that one or two people wondered if I was gay.

Like Tai, everyone thinks I'm a lesbian. It's weird because I'm basically the opposite; I'm not a girl and I'm not into girls either...

People assume I'm straight. A few times when I've come out to friends I've gotten legitimate "WTF? I would have had no idea."

So one of my closest friend's and I attend the same school/are in the same program. We've known each other for years. She's bisexual (with a bf) and I'm gay. She's always assumed people knew I was gay.

Well one day last year, I gave her a hug and left class. Apparently, a few of the other girls asked her right after that if we were dating. This happened a few other times. She was definitely perplexed and we still talk about how some people don't know, which surprises us both!

I have no problem...if it's a female saying it. I just worry that it's going to cause issues with other guys, if you know what I mean. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
