I use Google Chrome. Next to the link information, where you type in web addresses etc. sometimes I get suggestions of sites I've already visited and a gay dating site keeps popping up after I forgot to use incognito on that. Any idea, on how I can remove these without them ever appearing?

My (homophobic) father will need to use my computer soon :|

Make a separate account on google chrome for the other people/your father. In the upper right corner of the window there is a button with your name on it. When you're done browsing, you click on it to switch to a different profile. I think, but you should check this, that the personalized ads will disappear.

Step 1 : Click the three lined tab icon on the top right of your Google Chrome Browser
    Step 2 : Click Settings
Step 3 : A settings tab will appear on your browser, scroll down and click Advanced Settings
Step 4 : Under the heading Privacy you will see an option called "Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar or the app launcher search bar"
Step 5 : Click this option so there is no longer a check mark beside it

    ----

Or you could repeats Steps 1-3 and under Privacy heading, click "Clear Browsing History"

there's always the ( ctl + shift+ N ) incognito mode, it erases whatever you were doing in that particular tab, so you wouldn't have to go back and delete your web history over and over again

If I were in your situation, the computer might 'develop' a problem. Nah. I'd suggest doing what others have kindly mentioned and possibly using CCleaner. That will fool most people. It really depends on how tech-savvy your dad is. If he's half as tech-savvy as my mother, well, you might be kind of screwed.
