Man steals Jesus-cookie, gets pinned down by seven churchgoers, and is held on $2000 bail for counts including disruption of a religious assembly.

    Seriously?

Not only can you order these things in bulk online to not-eat for as long as you want, but I don't understand how munching up a cracker and pooping it back out is less abusive than holding on to it.

Religion is, whether us religious people want it to be or not, a very sad thing at times...

It was a very disrespectful thing for that guy to do. The thing I don't get is, why on earth would someone want to steal communion wafers? They definitely aren't valuable and it's not like they're worth eating as they have no taste to them. The person would have to be either crazy, in which case he probably shouldn't be held responsible for his actions, or he actually was trying to disrupt church, in which case he's probably getting what he deserves.

    :roflmao:

I can't believe that 2 people recieved minor inguries!

It is pretty disrespectful, but you cannot deny that stealing communion-wafers is ridiculous.

Hey! That "Jesus cookie" is the body of Jesus Christ!!!

Apparently communion wafers, after they have been blessed by the priest (and that is the difference with those that you can buy) are a prized item in satanic rituals. Hence the fuss.

I did not know that. If that's the reason why he did it, then he definitely deserves to be prosecuted. I've dealt with satan worshippers before and they can be a scary bunch.

You should have heard about the guy who was actually handed a wafer by his priest and instead of munching it on the spot, he took it back to his seat. BAM! Excommunicated.

Because you find some of them creepy and there's a chance the guy might be a Satanist, he should definitely be prosecuted? So much for respect and reason. Remember that not all Satanists are actually "Satan worshipers", and many of them have no concept of "Satan" in general.

I didn't say creepy, I said SCARY. Big difference. Sorry if I was too harsh. I'm probably biased because as I've said, I dealt with devil worshippers before and those were very, very bad experiences.

Question. How can you be a satanist and have no concept of satan? Isn't that kind of contradictory?

    This is how.

In particular, the LaVeyan Satanism section is interesting to read.
