I love Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Chinese food. Favorite dishes would have to be Ramen (NOT the instant kind), Pho, and Roast Duck.
Chinese food, definitely. But my favorite dish is sauerkraut with apples in it. Oma's recipe is best, of course
Turkish/Greek food is the best and my absolute favourite. I also really love Italian food, but nothing beats Greek salad and a lamb gyros.
I like Indian, Meditteranean, and Vietnamese. Probably Indian is my favorite of them all (sorry, mom)
Mexican food is definitely my favorite, but maybe that's just because I've lived in south San Diego most of my life
I love our own cusine too much to invest any real attachment to any other. If I have to pick one it would be Italian. Greek/Balkan kitchen have many similar dishes so I count it as home territory as well.
While it isn't a whole lot different from my own food, Dutch food is really good. Not sure what we have that they don't, outside of sweets (I'm assuming lots of new world foods are less common there), but their own desserts and snacks are so good! For example, boterkoek (lit. Buttercake): and the counter to pancakes with Québec maple syrup, stroopwafel (lit. Syrup waffle): But watch out for "drop"! It's the most foul, spew-inducing candy ever made. It tastes saltier than an old Dutch lady's dried, haggardly elbow skin! (too vivid; I'll stop now.)
I had a tofu lemongrass soup at a thai/vietnamese restaurant and it was divine. Almost as great was the lychee sorbet with exotic fruit that followed. I love pretty much every food I try, but as a vegan there are a lot of traditional dishes that I can't enjoy. There are of course great vegan versions of a lot of them.
Phat si-io (or however you spell it). I never get tired of it. Some of my other favorites are phở and shawarma, but I can occasionally get bored of them. Feel like I'm missing something though...
