You rot in the ground. Clearly.

I refuse to believe that nothing happens when you die... I can't bear the thought of it. However, whilst I realize it's futile to believe in heaven or reincarnation (I'm not religious) I have a theory!

The cosmos, our universe has infinite possibility. After this universe ends it is entirely possible that a new one will begin (we might be in our millionth universe by now). Knowing this, there is a negligible chance that one day a universe will be created, one with the exact atomic structure as our current one. It will start the exact same way, progress the exact same way and end the exact same way. We will be born again with the exact life you have and are currently experiencing. After we die it will take trillions and trillions and trillions e.t.c. of years to happen but I believe it will. So to answer your question: We are simply born again. We die and are conceived and this cycle continues forever. We won't notice the passage of time as you won't experience it upon death. We won't remember anything as we are re-born. We may have had this conversation before who knows?

Anyway... that's what I like to put my faith in

I want to believe that we either re-incarnate or live eternally somewhere. However, I think what makes most sense is that it's just nothing. However I don't want to believe that.

I imagine you just die, that there is nothing after. I find the thought rather peaceful personally.

When you die you either enter heaven a spiritual paradise or hell a demonic place of external suffering. My great grandma lost five of her sons before she died and a few other relatives and the legend from what she said after her relatives died she witnessed their presence all of them after they died telling her their in a place of imaginable beauty you cannot imagine. I don't if I necessary believe it but it sounds very likely. I don't think she would make that up. I also remember when my grandma remains were put in the ground two deer met each other and ran away together. It was really beautiful and we thought it meant our grandparents were together again in paradise.

Do you remember what it was like before you were born? That's what it's like being dead.

I feel the opposite. I really do not want to reincarnate.

I think that there has to be something after death. I dont even have a theory or anything  I just hope that we are reincarnated or something similiar because I just cant be ok with a life just ending without anything after that.

I'm not religious so I don't believe in heaven or hell but I'd like to think something happens to you after you die other than rotting in the ground or ashes sitting on someone's desk

To copy and paste from, interestingly enough, a thread posing this very same question:

Me: I made it to Heaven?
St. Peter: Ha! Jokes on you -- the Westboro Baptist Church was right!
    Me: ... fuck...

We rot in the ground. I hope there's something better, hopefully nothing worse.

    You turn into maggot food.

    The End.

But, on a more serious note, it's something I don't think anyone who's alive will ever have an answer to(if there is one).

 Okay, this post made my day.

I believe that when we die, we die. That's it. Nothing more.

I personally believe in reincarnation, though I believe there is a bigger picture beyond this. I believe we reincarnate until our soul can reach the spiritual "fullness" necessary to get into heaven.
