This is a thread about laughter.

How would you describe your laugh to other people on EC? For example, do you have an infectious laugh that sets everyone else off? (See the poll for some options).

Do you really LOL  or ROFLMAO :roflmao: ??

What makes you laugh? Sarcasm? Other people's misfortune?

    Add anything else about laughter.

My life is contagious. Apparently it sounds so ridiculous that everyone else starts laughing too.

I'm sure, by now, enough folks have heard me snickering and laughing, in my audio logs. But that isn't what I'd consider even the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to my laughter.

    Why?

Well, to put it silly and simply, how I laugh depends on the severity of the hilarity.

I can easily scoff laughter, if something is a waste of time. I can emit a sort of soft but confident chuckle, just as easily. Sometimes, I vibrate more than I make a sound, and this tends to be when I'm either holding back laughter, or something is so funny, I'm forgetting to laugh, as ridiculous as that sounds. It can be a snort, if caught off guard, or even contagious due to being bubbly or warm. I have just as many laughs as I have ideas, really.

But what most rarely hear is what I'd call my "evil laugh", or my "Joker's laugh". The evil laugh is, basically, your routine MWUAHAHAHA, but it sounds pretty cool, I think. Probably one of those moments, where I'm content with how my voice sounds. As for the Joker's laugh, well, I can laugh like this:

It depends on the situation and the person interpreting my laughter. In most situations I'm laughing at something I probably shouldn't.

To most people; weird, and maybe a bit creepy. To expert body language readers; nervous, and sometimes more disheartening because they might understand I'm laughing from excitement.

The last time I laughed, my dad asked if I'm having a seizure.

I picked 'other' because my laugh is really, really terrible. I'm almost ashamed of it. It's just like a shrill screech  I think it really irritates people who hear it!

It really depends on the situation for me. Sometimes, people say that I have a nervous laugh, and other times people say I have a contagious laugh.

Depends... Mostly is nervous, with a few snorting sounds, and sometimes it's your "evil" Mwahahahah, which seems to trigger people's shock, as in "my God, you do sound and look evil when you laugh!"... Which triggers more diabolic laughter...

Humor? Black, or absurd, sometimes easy slapstick. I laugh with Harald Lloyd, Buster Keaton, a great deal of Monty Python, Black Books, Father Ted, the IT crowd, It's always sunny in Philadelphia... And about mr. perfect guy doing an epic fail and looking completly lost/helpless for a second.

Some family pics as well...

Nah just kidding, although I do fake it often. My real laugh is hysterical with a crescendo.

My laugh is pretty innocuous, I think. It's not loud or raucous or anything, but I am the type of person who laughs when other people are laughing. Mine's not that infectious, but I easily pick up on other people's infectious laughs lol.

I laugh easily, loudly and a lot, and that alone tends to make other people laugh. I frequently laugh to the point of tears.

On another note, I used to sit next to this girl in my high school science class, and I could make her laugh just by saying random words like 'muffin'. I don't know why,

Usually silent unless something is really funny. Still, I don't think its too loud unless I want it to be... I don't think any of the others describe it well. It just seems normal to me. XD maybe I need to ask other people what kind of laugh I have!
