I was watching an interview with Martina Navratilova and she said that in 1981 she was always asked by people when she could finally comment on her sexuality and she said she couldn't speak about it yet because she was in the process of getting her US citizenship and being gay was a disqualifier for applicants. Did you guys know about this? Because I didn't. I mean I guess I shouldn't be shocked, after all gays weren't allowed in the military either even as far back as a few years ago but when I heard this I was kinda like what the hell...
... She probably meant it not literally, you know. Afaik there was no specific law banning homosexuals from entering the US or becoming citizens.
