I've noticed that those people tend to be boring and annoying.

It drives me crazy when people do this. I'm not that picky on grammar mistakes; but it comes off as childish and makes me not want to respond.

To be honest, I don't care, I mean I do it myself sometimes.. I don't see a problem.

I guess I'm just annoying, boring and childish

My university sends me text messages with "u" instead of "you" all the time! I spend £9000 a year to go to one of the best universities in the country, the least they can do is write their messages properly.

It's not just that. I get annoyed at people who don't have interesting things to say. I've noticed that those people tend to neglect spelling and grammar.

It annoys me a little, but I'm not going to judge people over it. Unless it's my university, then the judgement commences

I use it sometimes, mainly in an attempt to be ironic or make my sarcasm more evident. Switching from correct spelling and grammar to mild text speak is quite effective at portraying sarcasm, in my experience.

    When you do it, yes.

I can't imagine that anyone who does this sees it as a problem. I think the value of this thread is in establishing that many of us do see it as a problem. Granted, it's our problem...unless you care about to what extent you're viewed as annoying or childish.

It's annoying. Use the proper spelling. Same with r.
