I think that I'd love to, spending the whole day in his room just together playing and all... That would be so awesome.

What about you ? Would you date a shut-in ?

Yes, I would. But most probably I would get bored in the long run if we still keep on hanging out indoors

    Ideally, sure.

    But...

If they're a shut-in, how would I meet them? Unless it was from a mutual friend, otherwise, this is difficult to become involved with.

I am a shut-in but my first gf was more so. So much that she didn't even really want me until I told her I'd had enough. I was lonely even in the relationship. Such a shame. :frowning2:

I'd give it a go again though, if the chance presented itself.

Is there a specific definition for what a shut-in is? I haven't heard it before.

Absolutely I would. You still have each other's company regardless of whether it's inside or outside, being with the person is all that matters. Movies, food, cuddles on the couch, what could be better than that  at least in my opinion anyway

Prefers to stay in their personal living quarters, typically their room. If they do have to go out, they go out and come back, as soon as possible, to their safe zone. Most activities include listening to music, watching movies, writing or drawing, anything that involves solo activity. Their maximum radius tends to be within their home, usually for food or to search for batteries, but prefer they remain in their rooms. Doors tend to be shut; locked is optional.

If they do hang out with people, anything beyond 2 people is pushing it. Anything around 5 is nervous-inducing, and when you hit double digits (10+), expect them to shut down and remain quiet, if not looking uncomfortable.

    Thank you, Kaiser.

With that, I'm going to fairly certainly say that I'd find it very difficult.

Sure, why not? I'm more outgoing than I used to be, but I'm still pretty much a loner. I definitely understand other introverts very well. <3

    No.

I need to go out--I can date an introvert ("introvert" and "shut-in" are not synonymous), but I couldn't date someone who hated going outside or going out to town. I can date someone who doesn't like big groups and wants to just be with me, but not within the confines of a room.

    Kaiser described me.

My room is my temple. If I could, I would almost never leave it. I like to hang out with some (not many) friends and my boyfriend, but that's it. I hate to go out in any other situation

Hell, I don't even like the light of the day :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: . I open my windows during the day so I get some fresh air and so I can see the apartment to clean it, but if I could, I would remain in the darkness (not total darkness, but with a small amount of light) all time.

This may sound depressing but it isn't. I'm happy this way

I would consider it, but it might be difficult because I would like us to go outside to enjoy other activities with each other.

I'm currently a shut-in, but it's due to being so busy with school and work. I never really have time for a social life. If I had more free time, then I'd make a greater effort at maintaining at least a semblance of a social life...
