And conversely what traits of theirs are exasperating and puts you off For me my oldest friend has the ability to improvise on the spot which comes in handy in numerous situations...but when we were younger he just mostly used it to lie himself outta trouble.:dry:
I like to have my friends be somewhat intellectual, but funny and like you said, be able to improvise. I enjoy it if they are empathetic. What puts me off is if they are arrogant, or simply use their humor to put others down.
I like my friends to care about me. A friend can come in many shapes, sizes, colors, orientations, but none of that really matters at the end of the day. If you can tell someone something in confidence or if you can reach out to them when you are most vulnerable, that person is your friend.
