How do you deal with stress? I turn my stress into creative energy and start making random stuff like film scripts, languages, AMVs etc.

I'm insanely stressed between coming out/transitioning, my social anxiety, and school. I'm working on two languages and am probably going to start a third soon and have two film scripts in a WIP state right now.

I'm on my way to finding out what's the best way for me to deal with it. I'm stressed out like every second of my life, I tend to overthink a lot.

Reading, music, dancing and similar things help.

I deal with it like every other problem I have, bottle it up inside 'til one day I burst and probably kill myself.

Music seems to help the most. Although to do tend to shop for goodies when I get depressed... >.>

I sit down and just listen to music, or try to come up with solutions to dissolve what's stressing me.

Stress... It's usually caused by my job, so I focus on what I'm doing until I finish it. Time goes faster that way.
Once I'm out, I like to chill at the library, or have a long walk, just get myself lost in the city. I have a coffee, or read the papers, or watch a good movie, whatever comes my way.

To ride my bike while listening to music is also a good way to cool off.
Also programming/hacking under some circumstances... That can be relaxing as well.

Depends on how bad it is. If I'm very anxious I might try and play song lyrics in my head, so I have something to focus on and also something to calm me down a little.
If I'm generally burnt out, chocolate and youtube. ^^

You've got to remember that no amount of anxiety can change the future and no amount of regret can change the past. When that doesn't work with stress, then I just decide to escape with music.

Yoga. Seriusly, give it a go. You can find lot's of yoga follow along stuff on youtube. My fave ones are by a woman called Jen Hillman, and just the easy streches. Just hearing her voice calms me down :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Idk, maybe its a bit cheesy or whatever, but if you give it an honest go it might help you to relax a bit

That sucks. :frowning2: talking about it helps, you know. Wall me if you want to talk (*hug*)

    To answer the question.
Lose myself in music mostly. Also, out of interest, what languages do you do? Do you invent your own languages? I'm a major linguophile, myself. Actually, I've been teaching on official Sindarin* class for the last year. Not that I'm any good ^^
*an Elvish language created by J.R.R Tolkien (writer of the Lord of the Rings etc.

That's so cool! I love languages too but I'm really bad at sticking to my studies. I used to know a fair bit of Japanese, Korean and Turkish until I lost the motivation to continue. I'm determined to learn Spanish now though, otherwise I won't be able to communicate with my fiance's parents. Plus I really don't want to be monolingual forever.

    Ever fancied learning Klingon?

On the subject of stress: when I get overwhelmed I usually just fall asleep. It's become my official 'go to move' whenever life becomes too emotionally taxing. If I catch my stress before it gets too high, then exercise definitely helps...but the end result is the same

@Klingon: Never liked Star Trek ^^ Or guttural languages, for that matter.
I also know what I'd call a "fair bit" of Japanese  My German's okay, also.
You really remind me of my best friend with your stress thing, too... :/
