Just out of curiosity, how are members of the LGBT community treated where you're from? Thanks for posting (*hug*)

Hey, little heads up. There's a rule here that you are only really allowed to speak English.

To answer your question, LGBT+ people are treated pretty well in Canada.

We don't exist in my town. But people are generally accepting.

I haven't had a bad experience but I'm usually mistaken for a boy instead of being stereotyped as a boyish lesbian. So I don't really know, but I think we're treated fairly well considering I haven't heard of anything.

It's not that bad in the UK, some areas are better than others and of course you come across various bigots but it's not as bad as other places. Devout religions aren't really prevalent here like they are in the US or Middle East.

    It really varies, a lot.
I get treated well-but I am selective about whom I come out to- at my uni people are LGBT friendly, so they were at my past jobs, but generally I don't present as particularly gay anywhere else- androgynous, yes, but unless I make it obvious with body language I blend in. So I do think my experience is based on being female and having a lot of privilege based on my gender presentation.

Being gay is legally accepted, in working class areas there is still homophobia though- and certain areas where conservative ethnic minorities live, are also hostile.

An obviously gay couple will experience hostility in certain areas. We are more visible than in other places in the world, we have more rights, but still not that accepted socially apart from middle class liberal parts of society.

Here in New York LGBT+ people are treated very well. At least in my town they are.

I live in Macomb County, MI. It is very closed-minded. Oakland County to the west of us is improving for the most part. It's still not a great place.

Meh it's alright. Some people are really cool and accepting, but we have our fair share of religious bigots. Anti-LGBT slurs aren't that uncommon as well. You probably wouldn't get harassed on the streets too much though so it's alright. Florida is pretty evenly divided in conservatives and liberals and I live in the area that's sort of like the division between the northern and southern halves.

My city is a little on the conservative side, but so far most people are really great about that.

I've been called LGBT-phobic slurs while walking down the street before, though. But it's not every day or anything.

Australia: It depends on the person. I've grown up in rural areas and as far as I know everyone seems to be accepting or ignorant. The women are are a lot more accepting than than the men. I think that if someone verbally abused you for being lgbt, I would say it's not because your lgbt but just because they don't like you.

I am from New England and it is pretty good I think. Most of the larger cities have universities and artistic/cultural communities that foster LGBT communities.

My time is split between San Francisco and Seattle. On the whole, both cities are very liberal and accepting, but there are going to be assholes anywhere you go, unfortunately.
