A conservative Christian agrees to serve all in his business

Sorry I'm posting this when this thread is pretty much dead but this subject really hits home with me. I am a Christian who owns a hardwood flooring business. I believe that God has generously poured out his grace and mercy on me and showed me his unconditional love when I was the worst of sinners. Never once did I entertain the thought that by showing me grace and love that he was endorsing my behavior. So the question for me is how should I act towards other debtors in light of this extravagant love and mercy he has shown me? Is it better for me to offer my services, with excellence and gratitude, sacrificing what may be my own personal rights and freedoms to show love and grace to people or to discriminate? For some people, for me to perform work in the home a gay couple could be construed as every bit as complicit in there arrangement as as providing service at their wedding. To some that would mean I am doing something that will encourage them to live together. Now I would never ever refuse to do the work they have asked me to do for several reasons. One, it would be immoral for me to selectively deny service to anyone on the basis of race, creed, gender OR sexual orientation, or, for that matter because of some sin I might imagine or know them to be involved in. I am just doing the job I am in business to perform. Two, I am not a participant in what they are doing just because I am providing the service. Nor do i in any way feel like I am in any way encouraging or celebrating their choices. And three, I think it would be a shameful, sinful thing to discriminate in this manner. I would be embarassed to stand before my Lord and have to admit that I did this. My conscience would not permit me to refuse service. I would wager that virtually every homosexual person on the planet knows what the Bible has to say on the subject. I dont think we need to announce it at every opportunity. For me, the question becomes what is the best way to be salt and light in our culture. Would it be to "take a stand" and announce I am not willing to do the work because I don't like the particular way my customer sins? I think this would be hypocritical of me. Or would it be a better witness to the world (in the case of a wedding caterer for instance) to put out the most fantastic spread, with the best service I can? Or in the case of a photographer, take the best darn pictures money can buy so people marvel at the quality of work I do. I think there is a much better chance they may praise our father in heaven in this scenario. Of course you can love gay people without approving of gay marriage. In fact, I think this would be one great way to do it. I realize there will be those that disagree with me but I think we should at least consider other options. As for me, I choose to serve.

As an atheist myself, I salute this Christian man. Kind of, I mean there is the part where he doesn't approve of gay marriage but hey at least he's not discriminating against homosexual customers.
