Life just destroys everything and it never stops doing that.

Not sure! I don't know how I'll ever stay sane as an adult. Too much responsibilities! I think many people just scrape by!

You can work on yourself and the attitude you have towards the world. That's about the only way.You can't change the world. You can't change the people around you.The only one you can change is yourself.

what do you mean by that? And what do you mean by 'life'?

Take your time to reconnect with nature- find your nearest green area, be it a park, or a wood and go for a walk, or even just sit down for a little while and meditate.

the world is itself is full of life, and it is beautiful, it is humans who destroy things & often don't care for life itself.

Its an illusion. They have a wardrobe filled to the brink of masks. They wear these masks to elicit a sense of ownership over life and normality.

Hobbies and forcing even bad things to have good meaning and purpose for your life. It sounds hard, and honestly it is, but it's not impossible. The hobbies give you an escape, something to distract you, and give you space from your problems. Once you have that space you can think "how can I use this?".

But also remember that it's okay to have bad days, it's okay to feel down or angry, even for no reason!

Everyone has their own methods. And, I would agree that music can keep you sane.

But then, seriously, I think life is less complicated than we are. People can be too sensitive, get hurt, get their heart-broken, we are so damn fragile it's scary. We lose it so easily. What I'm trying to say is, we create this really hard life, we people ourselves.

Having something to devote yourself to tends to make for a less disillusioned and less cynical life. Idleness can be a plague on your well-being; it's too easy for valueless bad thoughts to fester if you're not occupied and if you have weak goals or none at all.

    Playing games.

World of Warcraft makes me more sane... or it drives me totally to insanity, i'm not sure yet.

I should also add that having interests such as art in its various forms or sport or a love of cooking and so on makes life feel so much more well-rounded. It doesn't feel narrow and harrowingly bleak with those interests to keep you going, when life doesn't feel like a bare, lonely path from birth to death. Indulging yourself is one of the best ways to keep your positivity up.

Life also keeps creating new things, in an endless and apparently meaningless cycle of death and rebirth.

But you asked in your title on how one stays sane...perhaps the myth of Sysiphus is helpful, this is the tale in Greek mythology of a trickster king, Sysiphus, condemmed to haul a heavy stone to the top of a hill, only to see it roll down again.

The existential writer, Albert Camus, argued in his book The Myth of Sysiphus that despite this terrible, meaningless task, Sysiphus, by accepting his fate, kept himself sane in that desolate exile precisely because he accepted that life has no discoverable meaning, and that everything everyone ever does is devoid of meaning and permanence (victories in battle are short-lived, people hope for a better future, but approach death as the future approaches, etc.). Camus argues that Sysiphus must have been happy in this acceptance.

Life destroys as many things as it creates, how you see it depends on what you focus on (*hug*)
