Do people still do it? I'm kind of making a political statement by staying in the closet. Mainly because I'm fucking sick of the stereotypes about queer femmes. I'm sick of all feminine queer women being portrayed as confused. Since I fit the horrible stereotype, I think it's better for me to be closeted. Even though I'm not too happy about it.
I don't mean to poke and prod and be a jerk, but what is so bad about fitting the stereotype? Like, specifically.
There's a fair chance other people will "prove the stereotype correct" if you don't. It's not your responsibility to be held as the standard representative of the mass of people who are going through struggles similar to yours ... whether you stay closeted or not is your choice, and far be it from me to say there is one right or wrong answer here. But my main message is, you can't be held at fault for "proving correct" a stereotype some people already believe in.
I thought by political statements it meant you were a politician in a political party and you were going to back up a policy or something haha . A lot of people still come out to support others
