There had been a lot of talk on here lately about presidential candidates with the election process starting. So American citizens, what do you look for in our next president? In terms of both qualities and stances on issues

A middle of the road kind of candidate.Pro gun, pro gay, strict foriegn policy and less strict on the environment. Nothing is worth taking away people's guns or taking away people's jobs because of environmental crap.

    - Stands for America's values
    - Libertarian (or Libertarian-like) goals
    - Stands for the Constitution
    - Keeps Church and State divided

Those are the main things I'm looking for at the moment. I was really rooting for Rand Paul... but he's said some stupid things so yeah...

I'm more worried about the 7 billion people than the 100s of coal workers. What the U.S. Should do is provide them with Job training so they can transition into a new field of work.
Also since when is scientific evidence delusional fear?

One of the only performances I disagree with him on. Well, for the most part.

I don't honestly care about scientific evidence fact or not. I don't feel politically justified telling someone who may have been doing that job for 30 years "oh umm the government is making you leave your job so we are gonna train you for a different one." Jobs as we all know it is hard to get in this economy especially if you don't have a college education so yeah I refuse to take away jobs and rather risk harming the environment. We need a president to defund the EPA and discard it.

That's very narrow thinking. But, if you don't care about scientific evidence, then I don't know what to say. However, if what the evidence suggests is true, a lot more people will lose their jobs than a few coal miners at the rate we are going. Some people do go overboard on the environment, though.

The rest of the world and most of America really won't care about those jobs in the face of environmental damage, dano. They're insignificant compared to, say, 100,000 people in the low-lying island nation of Kiribati losing their entire country centuries or even millennia prematurely because of rising sea levels.

A handful of jobs in an industry that can be phased out is not worth contributing to fucking up everyone's world.

What shuttering coal plants means for energy jobs - Moneycontrol.com

A few coal jobs? I doubt 50,000 thousand jobs is a few. Thanks Obama.

Financial reform(at least supports Dodd-Frank, preferably they support Glass Steagall)

Has a solution to fix social security

In terms of foreign policy, I would ideally like them to support these three things
1 The Nuclear deal with Iran that is being negotiated now
2 Two state solution for Israel-Palestine
    3 Independence for the Kurds

At least center left on social issues
