Do your family members point out male attention?

Whenever I'm going out my mom and sister like to point out male attention I'm getting. Even when it's gay pride and I'm trying to just enjoy myself. I don't want to think about any guys who are looking at me, I just want to be who I am in peace.

They're trying to be helpful. It means they accept your sexuality. That's a good thing. When they make those comments, smile and tell them to stop it.

That happens with me as well, but to me it's either mockery or a surprise.

How is that accepting my sexuality? I don't want to know about what guys are looking at me. I'd rather pretend they don't exist. I'm fine with men looking at me, I just don't want people to remind me of that.

You're out to your family, yeah? If you are, why are they pointing it out?

I'm not going to lie, I find it flattering from both sexes. As long as it's appropriate and not leering or gross, or when guys old enough to be my dad give me that look. But I can totally understand why you wouldn't, and why it could make you uncomfortable. Have you said anything to them about why they feel the need to point it out?

    My family tried to hook me up with every guy that spoke to me... They went on and on about a clerk at a wine shop who complimented my makeup........ I don't think they really understood that he *probably* wasn't into me? XD;;;;

I think it's something that parents like to do, but I'm not sure about your sexuality, and if you have told them that you are uninterested in men, then at best it's wishful thinking on their part, and at worst... denial. T.T

I would get annoyed, too. But that because I think my parents are dead wrong about who has attraction for me.

My mom does that all the time. It's very annoying.

I went to pick up my mom at her new workplace with my dad. So we went in and my mom introduced me to her colleagues and there was this guy, this older guy, must've bee in his early thirties and we all talked while my mom was finishing up etc. I don't remember his name, lol, so let's call him Adam.

My parents and I came home and sat down for dinner and my dad was like:

Dad: Didn't Adam say something to you... ?
    Mom: What about?
    Dad: Didn't he say anything?
Mom: What?? OH, you mean that he likes her? (she looks at me)
Dad: Yeah, he said 'you have a really beautiful daughter'
Mom: Oh yeah he whispered wow, your daughter is gorgeous.

I was mortified. Then a few days later I went to pick up my mom again and met this guy again and he tried chatting me up but failed. And afterwards my mom told me this guy was saying things like, he wants to take me out for dinner and asked my mom whether I've mentioned anything about him. And my mom told him that I had said he was cute as fuck, etc. LOL. And my mom and I just laughed about it, but it was kind of awkward.

+ her former co worker wanted to set me up with her son....
