I saw Hendrix's poem and I thought that there should be a place for everyone to post poems. so... Rhyme away.

A little satire for you...


I gaze out the window
looking for a glimpse of
nature, of balance, of purity
instead I see macabre
pastel houses, uniform sidewalks
caging trees and grass and weeds
choking their majesty

I long to be in a
place of unbridled glory
undefined purity and life
where weeds and flowers
grow in balance, in eternal stalemate
where trees spread their limbs
to the heavens and
soak up the sin of manking
and streams flow unhindered
by dams or the refuse
of people who could care
less, as long as it's
not their stream
not their trees
not their life
not their problem
not their choking birds
paper thin shells
mutated life
ruined
destroyed
burned
cut
left to die

Desire

To ease my aching soul
need someone to console
me, in times of dark
not one to remark
on how I appear
or what I fear
would hold me tight
through blackest night
until the light
until my fight
is lost or won
who would not shun
me were I sad,
or mad, or bad
who loves me so
much, would never go
no matter what
but
it is not so
it can’t be so
I know

Smart

They think I’m smart
quick of wit and cold of heart
but I know
it isn’t so
I’m dumb
wanting nothing more than to be numb
from the pains
within my veins
ignorance is bliss
it’s this they really seem to miss
“know thyself” they say
I look down in dismay

they say “trust”, I won’t
